Large Diameter Flanges — up to 8 m (8,000 mm)
Large-diameter flanges are a core product at Teshi Group. We manufacture plate flanges, ring flanges and blind flanges up to 8,000 mm (8 metres) outside diameter in our works in India — to ASME B16.47, AWWA C207, EN 1092-1 and IS 6392 where the size is tabled, and to your drawing beyond them.

Flanges bigger than the standards
Most flange standards stop well short of what large plants need: ASME B16.47 ends at NPS 60 (1.5 m), IS 6392 at DN 2000 and EN 1092-1 at DN 3600. Water mains, penstocks, cooling-water culverts, gas-cleaning ducts, tanks and vessels often need flanges of 4, 6 or 8 metres. We make these from plate — the same way we make our everyday plate flanges — and machine them to the drawing.

From plate to an 8 m flange

Plate and cutting
Plate bought against the mill certificate, heat number registered, ring profile-cut in one piece or in segments.
- 02
Welding and testing
Segments joined by full-penetration welds to a qualified procedure, then radiographed or UT tested when specified.
- 03
Machining and drilling
Faced, bored and turned, gasket face finished, holes drilled on the pitch circle to the table or drawing.
- 04
Inspection and dispatch
Flatness, OD, bore, PCD and hole position checked and recorded; packed flat on skids for road or sea.

Large Diameter Flanges: common questions
What is the largest flange you manufacture?
Up to 8,000 mm (8 metres) outside diameter, made from plate in our works in India, with the drilling, facing and thickness from the standard or your drawing.
Which standards cover flanges above 60 inches?
ASME B16.47 stops at NPS 60. AWWA C207 ring flanges go to 144" (about 4.25 m OD) and EN 1092-1 PN 6 to DN 3600 (3,970 mm OD). Bigger flanges are designed to the vessel or piping code in the project specification — for example ASME Section VIII Division 1 Appendix 2 — and made to drawing.
Are large-diameter flanges made in one piece?
One piece where the plate size allows. Larger rings are made in segments joined by full-penetration butt welds, which are tested by radiography or ultrasonics before the flange is machined, where the specification permits a segmented flange.
How are large flanges kept flat?
Rings are stress relieved when the specification or the size calls for it, then faced on the machine and checked for flatness, OD, bore, pitch circle and hole position before dispatch.
Can you match an existing flange on site?
Yes. Send the drawing or the measured OD, bore, PCD, number and size of holes and thickness, and we will make the mating flange to suit.
How are 8 m flanges transported?
Flanges are packed flat on steel skids or timber cradles with spacers between faces, and over-size pieces move by low-bed trailer; export loads are shipped as break-bulk or on flat-rack containers.
