Notes

  • Lengths are in millimetres for a 2 mm raised face (Class 150 and 300) or 7 mm raised face (Class 600 and above), and for ring-joint flanges with the standard ring.
  • Stud lengths are those tabulated in ASME B16.5 and do not include the height of the points.
  • Different lengths are needed for lap joint flanges, for spectacle blinds or orifice plates in the joint, and when bolt tensioners are used.

FAQ

Stud bolt chart for ASME B16.5 flanges: common questions

How many stud bolts does a 6 inch Class 300 flange need?

Twelve stud bolts of ¾" diameter, 120 mm long for a raised-face joint, each with two heavy hex nuts.

Does stud bolt length include the nuts?

The tabulated length allows for two heavy hex nuts, the two flange thicknesses, the raised faces and the gasket. It excludes the point at each end of the stud.
