Welding Neck Flanges Manufacturers, Supplier and Exporter in India

Contrary to all the flange types seen above, blind flanges do not have a center hole, and are used to blind or seal a pipeline, a valve/pressure vessel and block the flow of the fluid.
Blind flanges have to withstand remarkable mechanical stress due to the system pressure and the required bolting forces. Blind flanges allow easy access to the pipeline, as they can be easily unbolted to let the operator execute activities inside the terminal end of the pipe (this is also the reason why the blind flange type is used as a manhole for pressure vessels, at times). It is maybe interesting to observe that, while this flanges type is easier to manufacture, they are sold at a premium average cost per kilogram compared to the other flange types.
We manufacture Galvanized BLIND FLANGE, Stainless steel (SS) BLIND FLANGE, Carbon steel (CS) BLIND FLANGE, MS BLIND FLANGE, Alloy BLIND FLANGE, Nicked BLIND FLANGE, Duplex stainless steel (DSS) BLIND FLANGE, Super Duplex Stainless Steel (SDSS) BLIND FLANGE, and Brass BLIND FLANGE.

Welding Neck Flange

Welding Neck Flange (WNRF Flange) has a long tapered hub that can be welded with a pipe. This flange type is used, normally, in high-pressure and high/low temperature applications that require an unrestricted flow of the fluid conveyed by the piping system (the bore of the flange matches with the bore of the pipe). The absence of pressure drops prevents negative effects as turbulence and erosion/corrosion of the metals in the proximity of the flanged joints.

The tapered hub allows a smooth distribution of the mechanical stress between the pipe and the weld neck flange and facilitates the execution of radiographic inspections to detect possible leakages and welding defects. The dimension of the flange (nps and the pipe schedule) shall match the dimension of the connecting pipe.

We manufacture IBR weld neck flanges, Galvanized weld neck flange , Stainless steel (SS) weld neck flange , Carbon steel (CS) weld neck flange , MS weld neck flange , Alloy weld neck flange , Inconel weld neck flange, Monel Nickel weld neck flange , Duplex stainless steel (DSS) weld neck flange , Super Duplex stainless Steel (SDSS) weld neck flange and Brass weld neck flange .

We Export Welding Neck Flange to United States (USA), Canada, Germany, Japan, France, Middle-East, Bangladesh, Nepal etc.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most frequent questions and answers

What is a welding neck flange?

A welding neck flange is a type of pipe flange that features a tapered collar and a long tapered hub. The hub is designed to be welded to the pipe, providing a strong and reliable connection.

What are the dimensions of a welding neck flange?

The dimensions of a welding neck flange can vary depending on the application and the standard being used. However, common dimensions include the flange diameter, the hub diameter, and the thickness of the flange.

What are the advantages of using a welding neck flange?

Welding neck flanges offer several advantages, including a strong and reliable connection, increased stability and safety, and the ability to withstand high pressure and temperature.

What are the different types of welding neck flanges?

There are several types of welding neck flanges, including standard, reduced, and ring-type joint flanges.

What does a weld neck flange serve?

A weld neck flange, also known as a high-hub flange, is a type of pipe flange that is commonly used in high-pressure and high-temperature applications. The flange has a long tapered hub that extends from the base of the flange, which allows for a smooth transition between the flange and the pipe. This design provides a more stable and secure connection than other types of flanges, making it ideal for applications where the flange is subjected to high stress or vibration. It also has a raised face or a ring type joint face which provides a good sealing surface for the gasket and prevents leakage. This type of flange is often used in oil and gas, chemical, power generation, and many other industrial processes. The flange is easy to weld, it also acts as a guide for proper alignment during the welding process. It’s suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature applications as they can provide a secure seal under these conditions.

How are weld neck flanges created?

A circular fitting with a projecting rim all the way around is what makes up a weld neck flange. These flanges, which are normally machined from forgings, are butt welded to pipes. Bolts may be used to attach one flange to another flange thanks to a set of drilled holes in the rim.

What is the definition of a raised face weld neck flange?

A raised face weld neck flange is a type of weld neck flange that has a small raised ring around the bore, also called the raised face. This raised ring, or face, is machined onto the flange to provide a gasket surface that is perpendicular to the flange’s bore. The raised face is usually 1/16 inch to 1/4 inch high, depending on the pressure and temperature rating of the flange. This raised face provides a better seal than a flat face flange and is commonly used in high-pressure and high-temperature applications. The raised face also provides a better gasket surface area and helps in preventing leakage.

What differentiates a weld neck flange from a slide-on neck flange?

A weld neck flange and a slip-on flange are both types of pipe flanges, but they have different design features that make them suitable for different applications. A weld neck flange has a long tapered hub that extends from the base of the flange, while a slip-on flange has a short hub that is the same size as the base of the flange. The long tapered hub of the weld neck flange allows for a more gradual transition from the flange to the pipe, which distributes stress more evenly and can handle higher pressure than a slip-on flange. The slip-on flange is typically used in low-pressure systems and is not as strong as a weld neck flange. Also, the welding of the pipe to the hub of a weld neck flange is done at the top of the hub, which allows for a more consistent and stronger weld. While the welding of a slip-on flange is done at the bottom of the flange which is not as strong as the weld neck.
