Blind Flanges Manufacturers, Supplier and Exporter in India

Contrary to all the flange types seen above, blind flanges do not have a center hole, and are used to blind or seal a pipeline, a valve/pressure vessel and block the flow of the fluid.
Blind flanges have to withstand remarkable mechanical stress due to the system pressure and the required bolting forces. Blind flanges allow easy access to the pipeline, as they can be easily unbolted to let the operator execute activities inside the terminal end of the pipe (this is also the reason why the blind flange type is used as a manhole for pressure vessels, at times). It is maybe interesting to observe that, while this flanges type is easier to manufacture, they are sold at a premium average cost per kilogram compared to the other flange types.
We manufacture Galvanized BLIND FLANGE, Stainless steel (SS) BLIND FLANGE, Carbon steel (CS) BLIND FLANGE, MS BLIND FLANGE, Alloy BLIND FLANGE, Nicked BLIND FLANGE, Duplex stainless steel (DSS) BLIND FLANGE, Super Duplex Stainless Steel (SDSS) BLIND FLANGE, and Brass BLIND FLANGE.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most frequent questions and answers

What is the purpose of a blind flange?

A blind flange is a solid flange as shown below. The purpose of these is to block off a section of pipe or a nozzle on a vessel that is not used. (A nozzle is typically a pipe coming out of a vessel and is usually flanged so it can be connected to valves or piping).

Is blind flange a termination flange?

Blind flanges may be used when testing pipe pressure, to create an access point in a piping system, to temporarily seal a piping system while modifying or repairing the line, or to create a long-term seal to terminate a piping system. A blind flange is bolted, rather than welded in place.

How many types of blind flanges are there?

The most common two types are the flat face (FF) and the raised face (RF) blind flange. A flat face flange is completely smooth and level across the surface. The raised face flange has a slightly elevated middle area that creates two levels on the surface of the flange.

How do you install the blind flange in a pipe?

A blind flange is installed in the following ways—

  1. Separate the blind flange with a plastic wedge and hammer. Ensure that the surface does not get scratched. When the blind flange has been separated, clean the surface with acetone.

  2. Post this, take care of the gasket and ensure there is no damage to it because in the next step you would be applying the adhesive to put on the gasket. Ensure that the holes are in alignment with the blind.

  3. After the gasket has been put, apply the powder onto the surface to ensure that the surface can be removed easily if required in the future.

  4. Attach the other part of the blind onto the flange using a bolt. Make sure that each of the bolts is applied to airtight seals.
