Seamless, ERW, EFW and LSAW pipes

Seamless pipe is pierced from a billet, with no weld seam. It is preferred for high pressure and critical service up to about NPS 24.

ERW (electric resistance welded) pipe is formed from coil and welded without filler metal. It is economical for water, structural and many oil & gas lines.

EFW (electric fusion welded) pipe is common in stainless steel. LSAW and SSAW (submerged arc welded) cover large diameters such as IS 3589 and API 5L line pipe.
